Ted

Our older folk are precious. We can learn so much from them . . . They can look back on life and see how this journey should and shouldn’t be lead, what’s important and what’s not. Ted’s life has had a couple of heavy blows but he’s always maintained a positiveness and a hope. At the end of the day Ted’s priorities in life are simple . . . God, family and a connection with nature (through his love of gardening). Simple, wise precepts we could all learn to follow. Thank you Ted!

Truth

“Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't goin' away.” — Elvis Presley

Post-work

It was good to get a surf after work the other night. But the light was so beautiful I decided to sacrifice a few waves and come in early to take some photos. I reckon it was worth it after a grabbing this shot of one of the old boys.

Stoked!

Caleb Stokes, local surfer and purveyor of fine boards, holds high his latest acquisition — A 5'6" carbon fibre Mini Simmons by Black Apache.

Praise

Praise is like sunlight to the human spirit: We cannot flower and grow without it. — Jess Lair

Sunshine

I'm not a doctor and I don't know the technical terminology, but I do know that sunshine activates our happiness glands.  — Jessi Lane Adams

Nice Work

Well done to Bert Burger and his Sunova surfboards. Good design, great workmanship and even better performance.

Locale

I like where I live. I can go around the corner and see things like this.

Chill Time

Spending the week in a cottage on the south coast. The days of onshores have driven me to take desperate measures . . . Jigsaw puzzles! Arrrrh!

Ships Ahoy!

With over 130,000 ships arriving each year the parking lot outside Singapore can get busy.

Cambodia

Seemed weird being at the airport without a surfboard! Never the less the two weeks I spent in Cambodia with 17 Aussie high school kids was a great experience for all. Follow the link to some pics I took of this intriguing but needy country and it's wonderful people. . .   http://issuu.com/mmmonty/docs/cambodia

"Cabin Crew . . .

. . . please prepare for departure." . . . "Cabin Crew, doors on automatic, cross-check and report. Thank you."

See you in about a month!

Flora

Strewth! I must be getting old! . . . I'm really noticing the beauty in flowers lately.

Simple Fun

Pretty simple fun . . . A ball, a couple of friends and a bit of flat ground.

Afternoon at Lui's

Lui's a real character — an old school Italian. When I say "old school" I mean like . . . a cellar full of his own wine, tomato sauce and olives. I had the pleasure of being invited 'round to sample his goods. So good, so tasty, so simple. Such a good time. Follow this link to see more . . . http://issuu.com/mmmonty/docs/lui_s_layout .
